Had some really good things happen during the Recovery Bus filming.
Dad Joe was able to connect more with his feelings as he was able to understand that who he is is not dependent on his behavior.
Isn’t it a great truth? God cares for me inspite of how I act. This is life-changing – very good stuff.

On reconciling the adult and child self, by Dr Kendra
We had a good day with mom and some prep work with the couple.
I helped mom reconcile her adult and child self. I want her to have this experience so that she can own her feelings and have a taste of the possibilities without Joe.
While we absolutely need each other and God provides relationships for healing. At the same time, we are responsible for ourselves and no one can ever make up for what we missed in early childhood. On some level, we have to take this to the Lord and heal ourselves.
A lot will hinge on what takes place tomorrow, when dad really gets in the game.
In many ways, whatever is going to happen in this process and this family comes down to tomorrow morning…whether or not we can have a breakthrough with dad. We all pray to that end.

You are probably wondering what on Earth a “Recovery Bus” is.
Well, we invented it.
We come from backgrounds of abuse and trauma – a past which enables us to encourage others to find the healing and recovery that we have been blessed to have.
We had this idea for a reality TV show in which families who struggle with parenting, abuse, trauma, marriage issues or other problems could come find safe solutions with licensed therapists. We also want those people watching at home to learn something from others’ journeys – plus have a little fun while we’re at it.
Thus, the Recovery Bus was born. We are so excited to see where “the road to recovery” takes us and we are excited to invite you along!
